Casey Blum

MA, LADC – Mental Health Therapist and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Casey is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Minnesota. She completed her advanced certification in alcohol and drug counseling at Winona State in 2016. She is currently in clinical supervision to become an independently Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Casey attended the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies and completed a Masters in Co-Occurring Disorders with a specialization in addiction. She worked for twelve years at a residential facility treating substance use disorders and mental health. Her most recent experience is providing therapeutic services in an outpatient mental health setting, working with a diverse spectrum of people and concerns. She has formal training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy but capitalizes on a multiplicity of approaches to assist clients in developing adaptive cognitive appraisals and coping strategies. She works with people who struggle with addiction, loneliness and isolation, self-confidence, codependency, behavioral impulsivity, depression, anxiety, relational issues, and a variety of other concerns that get in the way of living according to one’s true potential. In her free time, Casey participates in a regular yoga practice and is a certified yoga instructor. She also enjoys spending time with her son, two smoosh-faced cats, and traveling to Norway in the summers. She believes that though the stress of living can never truly be uncoupled with the human experience, we can learn to take this challenge on directly to experience a more fulfilling life.
