Michelle is the owner and lead counselor at MN New Life Recovery Services LLC. She is an advisor and adjunct at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and is a local advocate and activist on the board of directors for The Aliveness Project. Being a LADC for 13 years and owning a private practice for 10 years, Michelle has worked with every population in her community and she has a firm belief that every person, no matter the background, deserves to be treated with the utmost respect and honor. Michelle and her husband are advocates in their community for several groups of individuals. One of their primary advocacy sectors is in the LGBTQ community. This community has had a profound influence on Michelle’s life and she enjoys the work in which she does for this group. Michelle has taught guided independent study classes at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota that emphasised exploring personal biases and advocacy. She is passionate about creating a world that honors and respects equality for all. In Michelle’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 4 children, and 7 grandkids!
